After-use care

Can I wash my pet-hair tool?

A cleaning and storage checklist

Check the instructions for your exact tool before washing or submerging it. Not every pet-hair tool can be washed.

Clear collected hair, check the tool and follow its permitted cleaning method before storage.

01 / Before water, check the instructions.

Start with the exact model, size and attachment. A cleaning method for one tool does not confirm a method for another.

“Self-cleaning” describes a feature. It is not permission to wash or submerge a tool.

Read the exact tool’s instructions.

Do they confirm that a part can be washed?

Yes · specified parts only

Remove hair as directed

Use the instructions for the actual tool. A collection chamber or release feature needs its own directions, if the tool has one.

Look before putting it away

Inspect after use. Stop using a tool that shows damage, and ask for advice if you are unsure what you are seeing.

A condition check is not an instruction to repair, dismantle or sharpen a tool at home.

Still missing the instructions?

Ask with the product name or model number. Confirm the parts, cleaning method and drying directions before adding water.

Which parts, if any, can be washed?

Use product-specific instructions to confirm which parts, if any, are washable. Do not assume that an entire tool may be submerged.

What cleaning method is permitted?

If the instructions do not specify a method, ask before adding water or cleaning products. This guide does not prescribe soaking, boiling, bleach or a dishwasher.

How should the parts be dried?

When a part is confirmed washable, use the specified cleaning method and let it dry as directed before storage. A fixed drying time cannot replace product-specific instructions.

What if the tool shows damage?

Stop using the tool and ask for advice. Follow model-specific maintenance directions; do not assume it can be repaired or dismantled at home.
